About the Role
Life Skills Autism Academy is seeking exceptional Behavior Technicians to join our mission of supporting children on the Autism Spectrum. In this role, you will provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy, working directly with clients to foster critical developmental skills in language, communication, social interaction, and school readiness. You will implement Behavior Intervention Plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), ensuring every child receives personalized, high-quality care.
As a Behavior Technician, your day will involve providing direct client care in both one-on-one and group settings. You will utilize a blend of intensive teaching and natural environment training to help children acquire new skills. Your work requires close collaboration with parents and caregivers to support the client's treatment goals, while maintaining accurate data records and ensuring a safe, organized therapy environment. This position is ideal for someone with a positive attitude, patience, and a genuine drive to make a meaningful impact on the lives of special needs children.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleProvide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings using intensive teaching and natural environment training
- check_circleCollect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior
- check_circleAssist with parent and caregiver training in line with treatment and behavior reduction protocols
- check_circleEnsure documentation is completed on time and following established procedures
- check_circleCommunicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by BCBA/BC
- check_circleUtilize safe and appropriate procedures and report all critical incidents and safety concerns
- check_circleMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment
- check_circleAssist BCBA/BC in preparation of client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skills acquisition
- check_circleFollow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols from individualized treatment plans
Requirements
- verifiedHigh School Diploma or GED
- verifiedCurrent RBT certification or willingness to complete 40-hour training and pass exam within 45 days
- verifiedWillingness to participate in background check
- verifiedValid driver's license and proof of car insurance (in some cases)
- verifiedAt least 18 years of age
- verifiedWillingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
- verifiedWillingness to obtain TB test if not done in past year
Nice to Have
Experience working as a Behavioral Technician, experience working in some capacity with children with autism or other learning disabilities, experience as a Teacher's Aid, Tutor, CNA, Caregiver, or Home Health Aide.
