About the Role

The Regional Medical Director for Musculoskeletal Value-Based Care (VBC) serves as the physician leader and clinical overseer for all MSK value-based initiatives within an assigned region. This position is designed to bridge the gap between clinical practice and strategic execution, ensuring that high-quality, cost-effective care is delivered to patients while meeting organizational goals.

In this role, you will partner closely with value-based care managers, operational leaders, network managers, and market clinicians. Your primary mission is to develop and execute clinical strategies that improve quality, patient outcomes, patient experience, and the total cost of care for musculoskeletal conditions. You will oversee a multidisciplinary clinical team and act as a vital clinical liaison to clients, supporting the effective deployment of both digital and in-market clinical resources.

Day in the Life

Your work will be driven by data and collaboration. You will review and interpret clinical, quality, and financial data to identify opportunities for improvement, translating these insights into actionable strategies alongside analytics and operational teams. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to provider engagement, where you will educate and support MSK and primary care physicians on improvement strategies, care redesign, and best practices in value-based care.

You will lead regional Quality Committees, engaging local physician leadership to optimize program performance and drive the adoption of VBC initiatives. As a clinical expert, you will communicate clinical strategy and performance plans to internal and external stakeholders, serving as a key advisor during contract performance reviews and strategic planning for value-based arrangements. Ultimately, you will champion a culture of quality, accountability, and patient-centered care across the region.
