The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital is a newly expanded, state-of-the-art 24-bed unit designed to provide the highest level of critical care for the region's most complex pediatric patients. As the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in the greater Charlotte region, our unit delivers a full spectrum of advanced services, including ECMO, CRRT, advanced pulmonary support, organ transplants, neurosurgical procedures, and comprehensive trauma care.
Our facility is part of Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital, the largest children's hospital between Atlanta and Washington DC. We have been named a Best Children's Hospital by U.S. News & World Report for 18 consecutive years and hold Magnet re-designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, showcasing excellence in nursing practice and patient outcomes.
The PICU team is a highly skilled, compassionate work-family dedicated to family-centered care. Our modernized layout features an expanded family lounge with respite pods and private in-room bathrooms to support families during their child's hospitalization. We maintain carefully adjusted staffing ratios (1:1, 1:2, or 2:1) based on patient acuity to ensure the highest quality of care.
As a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process. You will deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, utilizing evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making to create the safest environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
You will manage a diverse range of critical conditions, including ARDS, sepsis, seizures, hydrocephalus, and complex post-operative cases. This role offers the opportunity to work in a cutting-edge environment where you can gain expertise in managing unstable CPAP/BiPAP patients, new tracheostomy care, and trauma cases while collaborating with over 125 pediatric subspecialists.
