We are dedicated to maintaining the climate-controlled environments in our refrigerated warehouses and manufacturing facilities that keep foods and beverages fresh. Without our Refrigeration Technicians, Publix could not produce the volume and quality of products needed to serve our customers.
About the Role
As a Refrigeration Technician, you will play a critical role in servicing ammonia refrigeration systems. Your day-to-day involves performing preventive maintenance that incorporates industry best practices, as well as troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment. You will conduct daily rounds to observe and record temperatures and humidity levels, making minor adjustments to ensure optimal conditions.
You will work from requests to repair and perform predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems, including compressors, pumps, fans, heat exchangers, glycol systems, and power distribution systems. Depending on your qualifications, one of the following positions is available: Refrigeration Technician Class A, B, or C. The specific position offered is contingent upon your qualifications and work experience.
In addition to technical maintenance, you may be involved in training entry-level technicians on day-to-day operations, inspections, and repair techniques while ensuring conformance to all state, local, and Publix regulations. You will also participate in improvement activities to enhance systems, prioritize work, and minimize downtime to production.
