This position serves as a vital link between the City and its community, responsible for recreation services that assist in front desk operations and implement a broad range of community programs. Working under the general supervision of Recreation Services Managers, you will help direct maintenance, office staff, facility attendants, and instructors to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
The role is designed for those who thrive in a dynamic community center atmosphere. You will be the face of the department, providing exceptional customer service while managing the daily rhythm of the facility. Your day will involve developing, planning, and promoting recreational programs, activities, and special events for all age groups. From organizing Kid's Day Off and Winter Wonderland events to assisting with the Summer Recreation Camp Program, you will help bring the community together through engaging activities.
Beyond program coordination, you will manage the operational side of the center, including opening and closing facilities, handling monetary transactions, and maintaining accurate records through the Rec Trac computer system. You will also ensure the safety and cleanliness of the environment by performing facility safety checks and routine maintenance tasks.
Applicants must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, to accommodate facility needs and special events. Candidates must be able to operate a City vehicle and possess the required license.
Background Screening Incumbents in this job class are required to undergo a Level 2 Background Screening as mandated by the State of Florida. This screening includes a photograph and fingerprint-based searches of criminal records performed using the electronic LiveScan process.
This is a non-exempt position. Employees are hired as "At Will" employees, serving at the pleasure of the City, and may be terminated at any time with or without cause.
