About the Role
As a Railroad Flagger, you will be the critical link in keeping workers safe on active train tracks. This role involves controlling train movements and enforcing federal safety rules to support a diverse range of clients, from Class 1 railroads to contractors. You will serve as the on-site authority, coordinating activities, leading safety briefings, and ensuring that all personnel and contractors adhere to strict railroad, state, and federal regulations.
This is a field-based position requiring significant travel (50% - 85% on average), often for extended periods. You will work in a dynamic environment, communicating clearly with dispatchers, train crews, and contractors to manage on-track safety. The role demands high physical stamina to stand for long periods, walk on uneven ground, and work in extreme weather, dusty, and noisy conditions.
Hiring Process
Candidates selected for this position must successfully pass pre-employment and recurrent background checks, as well as drug and alcohol testing. All new hires are required to complete mandatory classroom training before beginning field duties.

Requirements

- verifiedComfortable using Android tablets and smartphones
- verifiedKnowledge of railroad engineering, design, construction, and safety
- verifiedMust communicate clearly in English
