As a Railroad Flagger, you will be the critical link in keeping workers safe on active train tracks. This role involves controlling train movements and strictly enforcing federal safety rules to support a diverse range of clients, from Class 1 railroads to state transportation projects. You will serve as the on-site authority, coordinating activities, leading safety briefings, and ensuring all contractors meet rigorous training and compliance standards.
This is a dynamic field position designed for those who thrive in high-stakes environments. You will spend significant time traveling (50% - 85% on average), often for extended periods, working in varied weather conditions and terrains. Your day-to-day involves communicating clearly with dispatchers and train crews, monitoring for rule violations, and maintaining detailed daily reports to ensure operational integrity.
Candidates selected for this position must successfully pass pre-employment and recurrent background checks, as well as drug and alcohol testing. All new hires are required to complete mandatory classroom training before beginning field duties.
