As a Railroad Flagger, you will be the critical link keeping workers safe on active train tracks. This role involves controlling train movements and strictly enforcing federal safety rules to support a diverse range of clients, from Class 1 railroads to state DOT rail divisions. You will operate in a dynamic field environment, coordinating activities, leading safety briefings, and ensuring all contractors meet rigorous training requirements. This position is essential for maintaining on-track safety and facilitating smooth operations across complex rail networks.
This is a field-based role requiring significant travel (50% - 85% on average), often involving long periods away from home. You will work in varied conditions, including extreme weather, dusty and noisy environments, and uneven terrain. The role demands physical stamina to stand for long periods, walk on rough ground, and lift up to 50 pounds, as well as excellent vision and the ability to communicate clearly in English.
Candidates selected for this position must successfully pass pre-employment and recurrent background checks, drug and alcohol testing, and required classroom training.
