This position serves as a vital link in the diagnostic process, operating radiology equipment and performing routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians. The role is designed to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease by adhering to established standards and practices.
Radiologic technologists in this role exercise professional judgment to select and compute appropriate settings for each patient, ensuring optimal procedure results. You will develop and implement procedure or treatment plans utilizing established hospital protocols and guidelines. A significant portion of the day involves maintaining equipment, procedure rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the well-being of both patients and staff.
Beyond clinical duties, you will participate in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities, collecting quality data to monitor and enhance patient care standards. The role requires a thorough understanding of radiologic principles and the ability to plan and organize work effectively while following written and oral instructions.
Candidates must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with a current Registry in Radiography (ARRT(R)), or be a new graduate waiting to take the registry exam. New graduates are expected to obtain the required registry within 120 days of hire. Additionally, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 14 days of hire, and any necessary state licenses must be obtained.
