This position serves as a vital link in patient care, providing comprehensive radiology services in accordance with physician orders. The role is dedicated to ensuring patient safety while delivering high-quality imaging across a diverse patient population, from infants to geriatrics. You will be responsible for preparing radiology rooms, developing diagnostic images, and maintaining equipment to ensure it operates within manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
Beyond technical proficiency, this role requires exceptional customer service skills. You will treat patients and families with courtesy and respect, communicating effectively to explain procedures, manage pain expectations, and address delays. The position demands professional judgment and a demeanor that aligns with medical ethics, including the application of growth and development principles to meet the specific needs of patients of all ages.
You will work as an effective team member within the KFHPW (Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington) organization, collaborating with physicians, colleagues, and leadership to efficiently perform radiological procedures. The role supports the organization's mission by promoting patient-focused care and adhering to strict safety and infection control practices. Team members are expected to assist in operational development, coordinate training for new employees, and participate in workflow monitoring to ensure continuous improvement in patient outcomes.
Candidates must be graduates of an approved accredited radiologic technology program by the time of hire. Additionally, certification as a Radiologic Technologist in Washington and Basic Life Support certification are required at the time of hire. The role involves rotating shifts and assignments, which may include surgery and portable imaging for specialty and hospital staff.
