Position Purpose

This role ensures quality elements for new products and processes are addressed during the earliest phases of development. The goal is to secure a positive impact on plant metrics such as Cpk, Customer PPM, Scrap, First Pass Yield, and Productivity at launch. The position serves as a critical liaison between plant quality personnel, division engineering, and purchasing departments, while working closely with Purchasing Commodity Managers to ensure high supplier quality.

About the Role

You will drive continuous improvement across all levels of the quality management system. In this capacity, you will participate in New Product Development (NPD) teams, utilizing APQP fundamentals, D(P)FMEA, and historical product knowledge to ensure critical quality elements are successfully addressed throughout the project lifecycle. A key focus will be promoting the use of poka-yoke systems and achieving high Cp/Cpk levels for special characteristics.

Your day-to-day involves collaborating with NPD and SPS teams to design quality directly into products and processes. You will lead problem-solving efforts with plants, division personnel, and suppliers using statistical methodologies and corrective action frameworks. Additionally, you will perform quality-based systems, process, and product audits, managing reporting and corrective action follow-ups. You will also assist the management representative in maintaining and continually improving key quality management system processes by identifying and implementing necessary improvements.
