There's never been a better time to join the shipbuilding industry. As demand for cutting-edge naval technology grows, General Dynamics Electric Boat is at the forefront—designing, building, and maintaining the most advanced submarines in the world. Our work is mission-critical, supporting the U.S. Navy and strengthening national security.
We offer a workplace where integrity, innovation, and excellence drive everything we do. Our culture is inclusive, featuring Employee Resource Groups and community engagement, while our growth trajectory ensures stability and expansion with thousands of new jobs across our facilities.
The Program Analyst serves as a vital link between inspection operations and shipyard scheduling. Reporting to 3rd shift Inspection Supervisors, the General Foreman, and Managers, you will ensure that inspection operations are carefully planned and that affected personnel are properly briefed. Your primary goal is to maintain the minimum impact on ship schedules while ensuring rigorous quality standards.
In this 3rd shift position, you will develop comprehensive work packages for inspection evolutions, including surveys, OPCON inspections, and NDT inspections within the Groton shipyard. Your day-to-day involves collecting performance data on re-inspections and rework to identify and resolve roadblocks that impair the execution of inspections and nondestructive tests. You will also conduct deck-plate reviews to ensure all pertinent aspects of the inspection site—such as staging, lighting, electricity, and tank watches—are addressed before work is assigned.
This role requires the ability to resolve documentation problems and possess independent thinking and problem-solving skills. You must be capable of briefing all levels of the chain of command, up to the Vice President level, when required.
Every role at General Dynamics Electric Boat contributes directly to national defense and the U.S. Navy's mission. We provide competitive pay and benefits, including comprehensive healthcare, retirement plans, and tuition assistance. We are committed to your career growth through training, mentorship, and opportunities to advance within the company.
General Dynamics Electric Boat is an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, fostering an environment where diverse perspectives drive innovation and excellence.
