Quality Assurance Manager (Plant QA Manager)

About the Role

The Plant QA Manager serves as the guardian of food safety and quality compliance at our Harrisonburg, VA production facility. Reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance with indirect oversight from the Plant Manager, this role is critical for maintaining the integrity of our microbiological, chemical, and food safety systems. You will act as the Primary SQF Practitioner, leading the HACCP team and ensuring our facility meets rigorous regulatory, customer, and third-party certification standards.

In this position, you will bridge the gap between laboratory precision and operational reality. Your day will involve managing the quality lab team, overseeing in-process testing for product attributes like color, Brix, and pH, and leading root cause analyses for customer complaints. Beyond the lab, you will drive continuous improvement projects, manage nonconforming product dispositions, and coordinate with production and logistics to ensure seamless order fulfillment. As a key member of the Business Continuity Planning Team, you will also lead mock recalls and maintain the robust documentation systems required for SQF, kosher, and regulatory compliance.
