The Purchasing Director serves as the strategic leader for the corporate purchasing function, driving procurement policies and negotiating high-value agreements to ensure cost efficiency and alignment with project schedules. This role is critical to the company's success, as it manages the procurement of materials, equipment, subcontracts, and temporary facilities required for complex construction projects.
In this position, you will work closely with project leadership, estimating, legal, and executive management to foster strong vendor and subcontractor partnerships that provide long-term value and a competitive advantage. You will oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, from developing company-wide best practices and prequalifying vendors based on financial stability and safety performance to resolving critical issues regarding delays, quality, and shortages. The Director ensures that all contractual agreements are accurate and complete while monitoring spending trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve forecasting accuracy.
