About the Team

At The Recovery Village Salem Drug and Alcohol Rehab, we firmly believe that any adult facing drug and alcohol addictions, along with co-occurring mental health conditions, can begin their path to recovery. Our accredited addiction treatment facility offers a wide range of rehab programs in a safe and supportive environment, with compassionate care provided by experienced medical and clinical professionals. Located in Salem, Oregon, our facility combines medical expertise with recreational therapies and mental health services in a welcoming setting. We proudly serve adults from diverse backgrounds, offering personalized treatment programs tailored to meet their unique needs.

Advanced Recovery Systems is an integrated behavioral healthcare management company dedicated to treating addiction, substance abuse, and mental health issues. We put behavioral health front and center, assisting people with substance abuse issues, addictions, and mental health concerns. With facilities in various regions of the U.S., we have been furthering this mission since our inception, applying our advanced approach to patient care. Every facility in the network strives to provide the highest quality of care, using evidence-based therapeutic models that work. Our goal is to help men and women live healthy, happy lives without the burden of substance abuse or mental illness.

About the Role

The Peer Support Specialist plays a vital role in advancing Advanced Recovery Systems' mission by enriching care with lived experience. This role bridges the gap between clinical professionals and individuals receiving care, fostering trust and engagement. Collaborating with clinicians, medical providers, and case managers, you will offer unique insights into the recovery process. Your contributions will strengthen recovery-oriented care and improve outcomes by combining clinical expertise with relatable, personal experience.

In this position, you will establish relationships with patients as peers, ensuring new patients are oriented to the building and unit so they start the program with a clear understanding of their environment. You will assist clients by coaching them to identify strengths and personal resources to aid in achieving their recovery goals. Your day will involve mentoring, monitoring, and motivating clients, as well as facilitating weekly Peer Support sessions, AA/NA meetings, and life skills groups. You will also manage crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques, rounding on Detox and Residential units to ensure patients are welcomed into clean, prepared rooms with necessary amenities.

Why Join Us?

What sets us apart is our supportive leadership and strong team culture. We encourage cross-functional collaboration for holistic care and provide the ability to be creative in curriculum development. As a nationally recognized and expanding company, we are dedicated to saving lives. Our culture is built on the belief that every individual deserves a chance at a healthy, happy life free from the burden of addiction.

Hiring Process & Application

To apply for this Full or Part-time opening, candidates must hold an active Peer Support Specialist (PSS) certification through the Oregon Health Authority and possess a good driving record. We prefer candidates with at least one year of experience working in a treatment setting or a Substance Abuse/Recovery agency.

Schedules:

  • Full-time: Wed - Sat, 4x10 schedule (8:30am-7pm or 9am-7:30pm).
  • Part-time: 12pm-8pm, shifts available 7 days a week. Some weekends are required.

Please note that we are proud to be a drug-free workplace. All applicants are subject to background checks and drug screening as part of our safety and compliance standards.
