This position serves as a vital liaison between patients, families, and the organization, managing the complaint process through the customer service department. Acting as an additional resource for managers and providers, the role focuses on de-escalating dissatisfaction and negotiating resolutions with authority granted by the Director. While this position does not provide direct patient care, it is integral to implementing and supporting patient safety initiatives, including the identification, reporting, investigation, and prevention of events.
The role operates within a dynamic ambulatory group consisting of 12 pediatric subspecialty divisions and service lines. These clinics practice primarily at Primary Children's Outpatient Specialty Center, Primary Children's Riverton, Primary Children's Layton, Primary Children's Lehi (Miller Campus), 6th South Clinic, and various satellite clinics. The pediatric ambulatory clinics at the Outpatient Specialty Center operate in shared space (site-of-service 11 and 22) alongside Primary Children's Hospital and other University and community pediatric providers. The incumbent may also assist with patient experience and safety across pediatric surgery departments.
You will work collaboratively with Department leadership, Primary Children's Hospital (PCH), and physician faculty members. The team is dedicated to providing healthcare patient services with a focus on risk mitigation, quality improvement, and patient safety. This role partners with the Risk Management department to manage non-litigation, high-level complaints and grievances, ensuring that all investigations and resolutions align with regulatory requirements.
