About the Role
The Prototype Technician serves as a critical bridge between evolving engineering designs and physical reality. In this fast-paced prototype environment, you will independently build and validate complex cable and electromechanical assemblies. This role exists to ensure that every build not only meets strict industry standards but also drives improvements in manufacturability.
You will partner closely with Engineering to interpret complex schematics, troubleshoot issues, and propose process updates. Your day involves reading wire diagrams and blueprints to assemble cable and wire harnesses with minimal oversight, while also mentoring less-experienced assemblers. Beyond the bench, you will document findings from experiments and root-cause analyses, ensuring that every iteration of a design is tracked and refined.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleMentor less-experienced assemblers and demonstrate assembly processes per applicable standards
- check_circleComplete prototype and first article cable and electromechanical assemblies with minimal oversight
- check_circleRead and interpret wire diagrams, blueprints, specifications, and schematics for cable assemblies
- check_circleAssemble cable and wire harnesses in accordance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 and all applicable specifications
- check_circleInspect finished assemblies to ensure compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 and all applicable specifications
- check_circleProgram and recommend equipment to enhance cable and wire harness assembly processes
- check_circleCollaborate with Engineering to troubleshoot failures, rework issues, and propose process updates
- check_circleDocument and track processes, findings, experiments, builds, and root-cause analysis
Requirements
- verifiedHigh School diploma or GED
