As a Field Property Adjuster, you will be dedicated to providing exceptional service to our policyholders. Your primary responsibility involves traveling to customers' homes to conduct on-site inspections, investigate coverage, prepare estimates, and settle claims promptly and efficiently. Additionally, you will handle virtual claims countrywide, leveraging various platforms and software such as Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration. Your expertise will be particularly focused on water losses, ensuring our customers receive the highest level of support and resolution for these specific claims.
You will wear multiple hats in this role, acting as a Customer Service Expert who leads with empathy, an Investigator who confidently interprets policies, an Effective Communicator who tailors interactions to customer preferences, a Negotiator who handles complex settlements, a Problem Solver who utilizes critical thinking in a fast-paced environment, and a Recorder who ensures accurate documentation to protect the company financially.
This role requires residency within the greater metropolitan Detroit, MI area. While the position is primarily on-site, you will travel to customers' homes and handle virtual claims nationwide. A key component of your journey includes comprehensive training designed to build a claims foundation and understand daily systems and processes. Please note that you will be required to attend a 2-week training program in Dallas, TX.
As a condition of employment, your office or area may require you to obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license, which includes passing an additional background check with the Department of Labor. If applicable, you will be required to secure these license(s) within 60 days of hire. The Hiring Manager will work with you and the Centralized Licensing team to ensure you are properly licensed. You may be eligible for a $1,000 Licensing Sign-On Bonus if you possess the applicable active licenses needed for this role.
