About the Role
HNTB is seeking a highly motivated and talented Environmental Project Manager to lead environmental planning, documentation, and permitting tasks for major transportation clients. This role is designed for a professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, managing the preparation and delivery of environmental documentation while coordinating and reviewing technical work performed by others.
You will serve as the primary client liaison, managing project teams to deliver scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client's satisfaction. The position involves a mixture of office and field duties, including researching, gathering, and analyzing data, preparing project materials, and applying environmental law and policy to ensure compliance on behalf of the client. You will also provide mentorship and oversight to junior staff, fostering their development while leading the execution of project management plans.

HNTB is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements: Bachelor's degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Engineering, Geology, Biology, Environmental Science, Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field; 10 years relevant experience; 2 years of successful management of projects; Strong knowledge of federal, state and local environmental regulations including NEPA, SEQRA, CEQR and NJ EO-215; Experience preparing federal, state and local environmental documents including Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments, and Categorical Exclusions; and Experience preparing special studies including Section 4(f), Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act.
