Project Manager - Early Phase

About the Role

The Project Manager for Early Phase (EP) serves as the strategic bridge between Parexel and our sponsors, leading cross-functional teams to deliver tailored clinical research solutions. This position is designed for a professional who combines deep clinical research experience with agile project management skills to drive operational excellence. You will be the central point of contact for sponsors, responsible for navigating complex project landscapes and making informed, independent decisions that ensure successful execution of clinical operations and logistical strategies.

In this role, you will oversee the full lifecycle of EP clinical trials, from pre-award strategy and bid defense through to project close-out. Your focus will be on delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strict compliance with ICH, GCP, and other applicable regulations. Beyond clinical oversight, you will manage the financial health of your programs, handling revenue recognition, milestone payments, and pass-through invoices in alignment with contract terms and internal SOPs.

A Day in the Life

Your work will be dynamic and collaborative, often spanning virtual teams across different locations and cultures. You will lead regular meetings with sponsors and internal teams to align on objectives, proactively communicating progress, risks, and solutions. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to strategic planning, including reviewing study start-up activities, overseeing site selection, and managing IRB/EC and regulatory approval processes. You will also monitor critical study metrics such as recruitment, retention, and data cleaning, ensuring the project stays on track. As a leader, you will contribute to SOP development and provide mentorship to Associate PMs and Project Assistants, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Location and Work Model

This is a remote position with a strong preference for candidates located in California, Colorado, or Texas. The role requires the ability to lead and influence virtual teams effectively.
