Year Up United is an intensive, one-year or less job training program designed to empower young adults. Our mission is to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity by providing in-classroom skill development, access to high-quality internships, and dedicated job placement services. Through personalized coaching and mentorship, we guide participants through four unique career pathways, ensuring they are equipped to launch successful professional lives. Participants also receive an educational stipend to support them throughout the program.
If you are passionate about building relationships, interested in organizational processes, and excited to use data to achieve business outcomes, the Business job training pathway is designed for you. This pathway combines rigorous technical and professional training in Business Operations, Financial Operations, and Project Management.
A defining feature of our program is access to internships and job placement support through YUPRO Placement, our industry-leading talent placement firm. Successful participants may secure internships at leading organizations in the Greater Boston area, including Bank of America, Merck, Amazon, and LinkedIn. The program focuses on developing customer communications, team-based project coordination, comprehensive finance training, and essential professional business skills. You will also gain interviewing and networking expertise, resume building support, and ongoing guidance to help you launch your career.
Graduates of the Business pathway are prepared for diverse career growth paths, including roles such as HR Coordinator, Data Analysis and Reporting/Business Intelligence, Fund Accounting, Project Coordinator, Operations Support, and Client Services Support.
The impact of our program is measurable: 72% of Year Up United graduates are employed and/or enrolled in postsecondary education within four months of graduation. Employed graduates earn an average starting salary of $53,000 per year. During the internship phase, students earn an educational stipend of $525 per week.
