Year Up United is an intensive, one-year or less job training program designed to bridge the gap between young adults and professional careers. Our mission is to provide participants with in-classroom skill development, access to high-quality internships, job placement services, and personalized coaching and mentorship. We focus on four unique career pathways to ensure students are equipped with the technical and professional skills necessary to succeed in today's market.
If you are passionate about building relationships, interested in organizational processes, and excited to use data to achieve business outcomes, the Business pathway is designed for you. This track combines rigorous training in Business Operations, Financial Operations, and Project Management.
A defining feature of our program is access to internships and job placement support through YUPRO Placement, our industry-leading talent placement firm. Successful participants may secure internships at leading organizations in the California Bay Area, including Bank of America, Merck, Amazon, and LinkedIn, located in Pleasant Hill, San Francisco, and San Jose.
Participants develop a comprehensive skill set including customer communications, team-based project coordination, and finance training. Beyond technical abilities, the program focuses on professional business and communication skills, interviewing techniques, networking strategies, and resume building. Throughout the journey, students receive ongoing support and guidance to help launch their careers.
During the internship phase, students earn an educational stipend of $525 per week. The program is designed to open doors to career growth paths such as HR Coordinator, Data Analysis and Reporting/Business Intelligence, Fund Accounting, Project Coordinator, Operations Support, and Client Services Support.
Year Up United is committed to helping you get the skills and opportunities needed to launch a professional career. Our track record speaks to the effectiveness of our model: 72% of graduates are employed and/or enrolled in postsecondary education within four months of graduation. Furthermore, employed graduates earn an average starting salary of $53,000 per year.
To apply to Year Up United, candidates must be high school graduates or GED recipients, eligible to work in the U.S., and available Monday through Friday for the duration of the program. Applicants should be highly motivated to learn technical and professional skills and must not have obtained a Bachelor's degree.
