Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Engineer I to join our team in an ever-changing environment. This role is designed for a professional who is flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient, maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality while interacting with staff at all levels.
You will serve as a vital link within the project team, reviewing, analyzing, managing, and resolving field coordination issues. Your day-to-day will involve interpreting project plans and specifications for subcontractors and craft personnel, implementing pre-construction quality plans, and managing the full lifecycle of construction documentation—from obtaining permits and managing fees to coordinating submittals and issuing RFIs and Change Orders. You will also play a key role in the project closeout phase, establishing procedures for as-built documentation and mentoring field engineers to ensure safety, compliance, and schedule adherence.
