About the Role
We are seeking an Energy Efficiency Project Engineer to join our growing team in Arizona. As a Project Engineer, you will provide technical engineering and sustainability support for the team implementing SRP Business Solutions programs. This role is designed for those who want to drive real-world impact by performing energy engineering services for utility and end-use customers.
In this hybrid position, you will balance remote work with weekly in-office collaboration. Your day-to-day will involve reviewing electric energy efficiency projects, conducting site inspections to verify installations, and performing energy audits and field measurement and verification (M&V) activities. You will serve as a bridge between contractors and customers, helping them select appropriate energy efficiency equipment and ensuring projects meet technical accuracy and quality standards while adhering to budget and schedule constraints.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circlePerform energy engineering services for utility and end-use customers
- check_circleReview electric energy efficiency projects involving existing building retro-commissioning
- check_circleConduct site inspections to verify installations of energy efficient equipment
- check_circlePerform energy audits and field measurement and verification activities
- check_circleSupport measurement and verification tasks including field monitoring equipment installation
- check_circlePerform and review energy savings analyses and existing building commissioning energy modeling
- check_circleMeet with utility customers and vendors to present results and develop new scopes of work
- check_circleAssist contractors and customers in selecting equipment for utility rebates
- check_circleWrite technical reports summarizing energy analysis results and recommending savings opportunities
- check_circleCommunicate and coordinate with project stakeholders, contractors, and end customers
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, environmental science, or related field
- verifiedMinimum 2-3 years experience in energy-related field
- verifiedValid U.S. driver's license and personal vehicle
- verifiedProficiency in Office 365 Suite
- verifiedUnderstanding of electric energy systems in commercial/industrial facilities
- verifiedFamiliarity with energy efficiency codes (ASHRAE 90.1, IECC)
- verifiedKnowledge of Arizona commercial building market
- verifiedP.E., C.E.M., or C.B.C.P certification (or on track to receive)
Nice to Have
Design and specification of HVAC, electrical, building automation/controls. Energy modeling experience using eQUEST, and EnergyPlus (or similar software).
