About the Role
The Project Accountant serves as a vital communication bridge between the project team, owners, and subcontractors. This position is designed to ensure financial transparency and accuracy throughout the construction lifecycle, from initial contract analysis to final project closeout. You will be the point of contact for resolving accounting issues, managing complex documentation, and ensuring that all billing and compliance requirements are met with expediency and precision.
Work Environment
This role is based at our Santa Fe Springs office and may require on-site presence at job sites as needed. Following a structured training period, the position may transition to a hybrid work schedule, subject to business needs and manager approval.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleProcess change orders, purchase orders, and 20-day California Preliminary Notices
- check_circleReview certified payroll reporting and monitor subcontractor compliance with insurance and licenses
- check_circleProcess accounts payable and reimbursable expenses related to assigned projects
- check_circleCreate and maintain reconciliation reports for corporate accounting and project staff
- check_circleInvestigate project variances and submit variance reports to management
- check_circleCollect and track subcontractor and supplier releases and manage lien or bond filings
- check_circleAnalyze owner contracts and subcontractor agreements to extract accounting information
- check_circleGenerate project-related billings to customers and collect unpaid invoices
- check_circleClose out projects by finalizing subcontractor payments, change orders, and releases
- check_circleMonitor unbilled costs and identify opportunities for additional billing
- check_circleMonitor project performance including contract value, billed amounts, and remaining balances
- check_circleAttend meetings with owners and architects to ensure accurate pay applications
Requirements
