At Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch, our Program Therapists are an integral part of an interdisciplinary care team dedicated to supporting youth experiencing emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric challenges. Guided by core values of Faith, Integrity, Relationship, and Stewardship, the team works to promote the mental health and well-being of every youth in their care. The mission is rooted in trust in a loving creator and a commitment to putting the needs of others above one's own, ensuring a mutually respectful and dignified environment for all.
This position serves as a vital link in providing evidence-based interventions to youth across school, community, and home settings. Program Therapists conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored treatment plans based on varying diagnoses. The role requires a balance of clinical expertise and operational awareness, as therapists must maintain the financial viability of the program while delivering high-quality care.
Day-to-day life involves engaging with youth and families both in person and via telehealth, offering individual, group, and family therapy. Therapists are expected to intervene in crises calmly and safely, ensuring the well-being of both staff and youth. A significant portion of the role involves collaboration; therapists regularly participate in treatment team meetings, peer supervision, and external meetings such as CST/IEP sessions to advocate for youth and coordinate services with schools and community agencies.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old and possess a Master's degree from an accredited university in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a similar field. Candidates must hold a current Montana professional license (SWLC, PCLC, MFLC, LCSW, LCPC, or MLFT) and pass a criminal record and child abuse registry background check. A valid driver's license is also required.
Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, ensuring that our team reflects the values of integrity and respect we strive to instill in the youth we serve.
