Volunteers of America is a non-profit human services organization committed to serving people in need, strengthening families, and building communities. VOA-LA provides a variety of social services to Los Angeles area communities, including Head Start programs, Upward Bound college prep programs, veterans' services, homeless shelters, low-income housing programs, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
The Program Supervisor I serves as a vital bridge between program staff and organizational leadership, providing experience-based competencies and administrative assistance to fulfill contracted goals. This role is designed for leaders who thrive in high-impact environments, offering guidance and supervision to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to the neediest members of our community.
In this position, you will oversee day-to-day program operations, including intake, service plan creation, and service delivery. You will be responsible for monitoring program compliance, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating outreach with community partners. As a leader, you will mentor staff, identify more efficient ways to achieve program objectives, and ensure that all contractual Key Performance Indicators are met daily.
At VOALA, we serve the underprivileged and vulnerable, often dealing with clients facing homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, and re-entry challenges. This work requires resilience and the ability to perform under emotional stress and conflict. All employees are considered Mandated Reporters and are committed to reporting any instance of physical or sexual abuse to proper authorities.

Master of Social Work or related discipline. Experience connecting clients to community and government resources. Experience serving target communities such as veterans, homeless individuals, or at-risk youth. Knowledge of community resources. Experience with HMIS and other relevant databases used by partner service providers. Ability to work with people from various backgrounds and/or limited English capabilities.
