Build your career while building NYC Public schools and impacting the learning environments of the next generation! The SCA's Architecture and Engineering Department is responsible for the development of scope, design, and construction documents for new school buildings, additions, lease conversions, and renovation work for New York City's approximately 1.1 million students. Our projects are intentionally and thoughtfully designed, with positive impact design at the forefront of all our work.

Our In-House studio is a multidisciplinary practice responsible for designing some of the largest and most complex schools in our 1,500+ school portfolio, as well as renovation work to existing schools. Our three studios are comprised of talented architects and engineers driven to deliver high-quality, custom-designed, sustainable, and resilient public schools. We invite you to join our continuing journey towards design excellence in the K-12 education sector.

The Senior Design Project Manager will manage consultants and/or staff in the design and construction or renovation of new or existing school buildings. This role involves guiding interdisciplinary consultant teams, coordinating architectural and engineering design activities, and ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, codes, and standards. You will participate in day-to-day operations to resolve managerial and administrative issues, lead meetings with various SCA departments and outside contractors, and review documents for quality, constructability, and value engineering.

It is the policy of the New York City School Construction Authority (NYCSCA) to provide equal employment opportunity (EEO) to all persons regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information, marital status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law. The NYCSCA will provide reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals.

We offer exceptional benefits including 100% employer-paid basic medical coverage, prescription drug options, dental and vision coverage, a NYC Qualified Pension Plan, and competitive paid time off. As part of our ongoing commitment to employee growth, the SCA's Learning and Development program offers tuition reimbursement for continued education directly related to your current role, along with access to leadership development and technical skill-building training.

The SCA is interested in qualified candidates who are eligible to work in the United States. The SCA is not able to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. We participate in the federal E-Verify program to confirm the identity and employment authorization of all newly hired employees.
