Volunteers of America Mid-States is a non-profit organization spanning four states, dedicated to creating positive change in the lives of individuals and communities through a ministry of service. Since our founding in 1896, the spirit of "volunteer" has defined our mission: anyone who serves others as a vocation through a commitment to a cause. Today, we are staffed by paid, mission-driven professionals working to build thriving communities.
We provide housing for families, veterans, and low-income seniors, alongside care and support for individuals with developmental disabilities. Our work also encompasses healing accountability through restorative justice and free HIV testing and education. Flexibility, teamwork, and fun are core reasons our employees are proud to work at VOA.
As a Program Assistant within the Development Disability Services program, you will serve as the first point of contact for employees, clients, and consumers. This role is designed to ensure that all Developmental Disabilities Services standards are met and that accurate documentation is maintained in strict accordance with the State's Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities requirements.
In this position, you will function as the positive presence for the office, managing general administrative, clerical, and special event functions. You will collaborate closely with the Associate Director, Residential Services Coordinators, and Home Coordinators to enhance departmental operations. Your day-to-day impact involves maintaining operational excellence, managing office equipment, and ensuring compliance with state standards while modeling our core values of integrity, compassion, diversity, commitment, and justice to all internal and external contacts.
We offer a comprehensive benefits package to support a healthy work-life balance, with all company-paid benefits and paid time off effective from day one. Our robust offerings include medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with a 403b retirement plan with company matching. We also provide life insurance, short-term disability, and access to federal loan forgiveness programs.
Beyond compensation, we are committed to your growth and well-being through our VOA LEAD Program, VOA University, and VOA Academy for clinical training. Our culture is further strengthened by our Integrity, Compassion, and Retention Committees, ensuring a supportive environment for all staff.
Volunteers of America is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
