The Production Technician serves as a vital member of a nine-person team at our Polychemie site in Pearlington, MS, reporting to the Production Area Manager. This role is dedicated to transforming raw materials into marketable, in-spec products by operating plant equipment and controlling chemical processes safely and efficiently.
In this position, you will be the operational backbone of the plant. Your day involves monitoring and adjusting production processes to ensure quality and productivity in accordance with current good manufacturing practices. You will manage fluid levels, flows, temperatures, and pressures by operating pumps, valves, and instruments, while conducting routine inspections and troubleshooting equipment issues. The role requires a blend of technical precision and adaptability, as you will collect samples for lab analysis, perform minor mechanical maintenance, and package finished products. Success in this role demands a hard-working, organized individual who thrives in a self-directed environment and communicates effectively with diverse team members.
This role is integral to our commitment to safety and efficiency. You will work in a dynamic setting that requires the ability to handle hazardous chemicals during off-loading and operate various tools, including forklifts and power equipment. The position demands flexibility, as you must be willing to work overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required. Candidates selected for this role will be required to complete a comprehensive training program to maintain employment. We look for individuals who demonstrate a good attitude, proficiency in Microsoft software, and a foundational knowledge of general math and chemistry. Familiarity with safety practices in chemical or industrial manufacturing is highly valued.
