About the Role
The Production Leader (Packaging Dept.) - 2nd Shift serves as a Crew Lead responsible for the efficient management of all production functions. This role is critical in ensuring the production of safe and high-quality food products in strict adherence to USDA guidelines.
In this position, you will oversee associate staffing, develop leads and operators, and provide operational support to hourly employees. You will act as a key liaison for food safety, required to report any food safety-related problems immediately to supervisors, managers, or the quality assurance department. The role demands a hands-on approach to maintaining 5S standards, utilizing LEAN Thinking for continuous improvement, and ensuring all work areas are audited for procedural compliance and product conformance.
Working Environment
This position operates within a fast-paced, 24-hour manufacturing environment. Team members must be prepared to work in temperatures below 40 degrees and in cold, damp conditions. The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand for 10 hours per day, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks requiring good hand-eye coordination.
