Our packaging team is a diverse group responsible for the design and execution of structural packaging for all Client products, ranging from shippers to finished goods boxes. Our mission is to deliver an outstanding customer experience while protecting products throughout the shipping environment and advancing Client's sustainability goals. We collaborate closely with a wide range of teams, including Industrial Design, Marketing, Environmental, Operations, and technology groups, to drive innovation in creative ways.
We are seeking a Structural Packaging Design Engineer who approaches problem-solving with passion, creativity, and curiosity. This role is unique because we value individuals eager to learn new skills and deepen their knowledge of packaging design, manufacturing processes, and sustainable materials. We welcome fresh influences from outside the standard packaging industry to help evolve our approach.
In this position, you will execute packaging designs from initial prototypes to mass production using sustainable materials. You will utilize 2D and 3D CAD to design and document all parts and assemblies, ensuring designs meet defined performance requirements through materials, stress, and failure analyses. Your work will involve communicating results through graphs and slides to support data-driven decisions. You will partner with internal manufacturing teams and external vendors to optimize designs for function, cosmetics, and manufacturability, while building models to validate packaging performance.
Candidates are expected to be proactive communicators, capable of updating project status and pulling in help to move roadblocks. The role requires effective verbal and written presentation skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, environmental, and operations groups.
