About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer in the Salem, Ohio area to lead the engineering, design, repair, modification, and service of material handling and lifting equipment. This is a hybrid position designed for professionals who thrive working both in-house and in the field. The role exists to ensure the reliability and safety of heavy industrial machinery, requiring a candidate comfortable with the physical demands of the job site as well as the precision of engineering analysis.
In this position, you will apply your expertise in 2D and 3D modeling, drafting, and FEA stress calculations to solve complex mechanical challenges. You will interact professionally with external and internal stakeholders, utilizing your knowledge of gearboxes, drive trains, and weldments to deliver high-quality solutions. The role demands a thorough understanding of machine tolerances, fits, and finishes, alongside a working knowledge of industry standards such as CMAA, ASME, AWS, AIST, NEC, and OSHA.
