The Product & Applications Specialist - Threading serves as the technical authority for product application, bridging the gap between product strategy and real-world manufacturing performance. This role ensures that products are designed, positioned, launched, and supported based on genuine customer requirements, competitive benchmarks, and application performance data. By integrating product management with application engineering, the position accelerates time to market, improves quoting responsiveness, and strengthens customer confidence in GWS solutions.
The role requires close coordination across multifunctional teams to support and accelerate sales growth. You will act as the primary technical resource for assigned product lines, materials, and target applications, defining optimal tooling, cutting parameters, and strategies for complex machining requirements. From concept to end-of-life, you will own the product lifecycle, driving new product introductions and rationalization efforts while monitoring performance and profitability.
Your work will be a dynamic blend of strategic planning and hands-on technical execution. You will gather and prioritize product requirements by analyzing customer feedback, application results, and market research. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to designing and executing test applications, including customer-specific parts and representative features, to generate cutting data, cycle time estimates, and simulations.
Beyond the lab, you will be on the front lines supporting sales and implementation. This includes participating in customer visits, trials, and demos, as well as delivering technical training to both customers and internal teams. You will troubleshoot post-sales challenges, optimize processes, and ensure compliance with local laws, industry standards, and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, age, genetic information, or any other factors prohibited by law.
