This position is designed for self-motivated individuals who thrive working with multi-disciplined teams committed to innovation and pushing the boundaries of technology. As a Process Engineer II, you will serve as the in-factory materials and process specialist, working to improve processes to maintain efficiency, reduce costs, improve sustainability and safety, and maximize profitability.
You will be the bridge between technical data and factory execution. Your day-to-day involves verifying that Technical Data Package (TDP) shelf-life materials are correctly called out in Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) and writing material processing procedures. You will collaborate on integrating process equipment within the factory and document its functionality. This role requires direct support of manufacturing activities, meaning you will spend significant time in and around factory areas.
You will actively participate in daily production meetings, assisting with on-the-job training for materials and processes. A key part of your mission is utilizing Lean manufacturing techniques to reduce variability, eliminate constraints, and provide ongoing process sustainment. You will also drive the use of common materials based on allowable requirements, helping to resolve problem buys and obsolete materials by identifying end users, determining requirements, and finding alternatives.
This is a 2nd Shift role (typically 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM) based at Raytheon's Tucson, AZ facility. The position is onsite, as production and maintenance employees are essential to the development of our products.
