The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is an integral member of our team, dedicated to creating a community where residents feel proud to call home. This position serves as the primary support for the Nursing Department, ensuring that every resident receives routine daily nursing care and services tailored to their specific assessment and care plans.
In this role, you will act as an extension of therapy services under the supervision of a nurse, assisting with range of motion exercises and ambulation. Your day-to-day responsibilities include providing compassionate personal care such as bathing, grooming, and oral hygiene, as well as managing essential household services like meal preparation, laundry, and light housekeeping to maintain a healthy environment.
Beyond clinical tasks, you will be a vital social connector for our residents. You are encouraged to initiate and participate in leisure activities, fostering friendships and encouraging socialization among residents. You will also serve as the eyes and ears of the nursing team, observing and documenting changes in residents' health and emotional conditions, and responding promptly to assistance requests or emergency pull cords.
This position operates within a facility that requires adherence to strict infection control practices and safety guidelines. The environment may involve exposure to wet and humid conditions, as well as potential hazards related to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, chemicals, and gases. The role demands significant physical activity, including lifting, pushing, and pulling residents and equipment, as well as maintaining various physical postures such as standing, walking, climbing, and stooping throughout the shift.
To be considered for this position, candidates must hold a valid license as a Certified Nursing Assistant or Medication Assistant in accordance with state laws. While prior experience in home care, assisted living, or long-term care facilities is preferred, the most critical qualifications include the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and communicate effectively in English with supervisors, residents, families, and the public.
We seek individuals who can deal tactfully with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people while accepting constructive criticism. If you are ready to contribute to a supportive community and provide high-quality care, we invite you to apply.
