As a Principal System Safety Engineer, you will serve as the Safety Lead for critical DoD missile systems in Aurora, CO. This role is a unique blend of technical expertise and project management, where you will be accountable for establishing and executing major safety programs. You will act as the bridge between technical engineering teams and program leadership, ensuring that safety is integrated into every phase of the product lifecycle.
In this onsite position, you will lead system safety working groups, engage in engineering review boards to assess design changes, and mentor junior engineers. Your day-to-day involves interpreting complex military standards and customer specifications to recommend compliance strategies, while collaborating across systems, software, hardware, and human systems interfaces to eliminate hazards and mitigate risks. You will be the voice of safety, presenting status to approval authorities and driving a culture of innovation and safety excellence.
This position requires an active and transferable U.S. government-issued Top Secret security clearance prior to your start date; U.S. citizenship is mandatory as only citizens are eligible for this clearance level. The DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services handles the clearance process.

Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development. Experience interfacing with Human Systems Integration showcasing execution of Human Factors Engineering tasking involving MIL-STD-1472. Experience with Engineering Change Proposals, Engineering Review Boards, System Safety Working Groups.
