As a Principal System Safety Engineer, you will serve as the Safety Lead for critical DoD missile systems in Aurora, CO. This role is a unique blend of technical expertise and project management, where you will be accountable for establishing and executing major safety programs. You will act as the bridge between engineering teams and program leadership, ensuring that safety is integrated into every phase of the product lifecycle, from design and fabrication to production and disposal.
In this onsite position, you will lead System Safety Working Groups, engaging key Raytheon and customer representatives to eliminate hazards and provide effective controls. Your day-to-day involves interpreting complex system requirements and military standards to recommend compliance strategies to Chief Engineers and Program Managers. You will actively participate in engineering and configuration control boards to assess the impact of design changes on safety, while managing interactions with suppliers and subcontractors. Ultimately, you will mentor junior engineers and drive a culture of innovation to improve overall safety practices.
This position requires an active and transferable U.S. government-issued Top Secret security clearance prior to your start date. U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as only citizens are eligible for this level of clearance. The DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services handles the clearance process.

Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development. Experience interfacing with Human Systems Integration showcasing execution of Human Factors Engineering tasking involving MIL-STD-1472. Experience with Engineering Change Proposals, Engineering Review Boards, System Safety Working Groups.
