The Principal Surveyor-in-Charge serves as the operational leader for a specific location, such as a port, station, country, or shipyard. This role is pivotal in aligning daily survey operations with ABS Operating Principles and Mission. You will manage the effective execution of service delivery, resources, productivity, quality, compliance, and safety, while fostering a culture of continuous training and employee development.
In this position, you will act as a professional specialist and resource for the application of Rules, Guides, and regulatory requirements. You will maintain critical relationships with local Port State authorities and key clients, communicating ABS services and capabilities while providing business intelligence to global departments. While the role focuses on leadership and management, you may also execute individual billable survey work and projects as business needs dictate.
This position requires access to information subject to Export Administration Regulations and/or International Traffic in Arms Regulations. Employment offers are contingent upon verification that the candidate is a "U.S. Person" or upon the receipt of all necessary export licenses or authorizations required by U.S. export control laws. Candidates must be prepared to provide necessary information to determine license requirements; failure to do so may result in the discontinuation of the application process.
