About the Role

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer or Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join the Sentinel Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test (SEIT) team. This position is located in Roy, UT; Colorado Springs, CO; or Huntsville, AL.

In this role, you will demonstrate strong leadership and foundational systems engineering skills to drive rigor, traceability, and architectural context. You will craft clear, verifiable Mission Statement of Work (MSSOWT) documents aligned with overall program objectives. You will foster diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement through mentoring and coaching, while providing critical, actionable feedback on system designs and regular status updates to program leadership.

Work Environment & Logistics

This position requires a US Citizenship and an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates. The role involves travel of approximately 10% of the time.

The standard work schedule is a 9/80 plan, allowing employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
