As a Principal Ride Control Systems Engineer, you will report to the Executive of Ride Controls Systems Engineering. This role is designed for those who thrive on defining and building the future of ride safety and control. You will partner with ride engineering teams across Disney Experiences and the amusement ride industry to develop standards, methodologies, and best practices that ensure the highest quality and safety for our guests.
In this position, you will be the bridge between complex engineering requirements and magical guest experiences. You will conduct design assurance activities, review ride system design and test packages for compliance, and advise project teams on optimal control system designs and safety analysis methods. Beyond the technical execution, you will play a vital role in shaping our culture by mentoring and training ride control engineers, advocating for processes that produce quality designs, and assisting design engineers with technical challenges. Your work will directly influence the safety and reliability of the attractions that bring Disney stories to life.

Knowledge of amusement industry standards applicable in Japan, France, Hong Kong, and China. Proficiency in Rockwell, Siemens, and Beckhoff automation systems architecture and components. Expertise in motor and motion control methods and components. Solid understanding of kinematics as it pertains to ride systems and machines. Knowledge of pneumatic controls and devices. Proficiency with engineering applications including AutoCAD, EPlan, Matlab, Simulink, Solidworks, and Visure. Knowledge of modeling methodologies using UML/SysML. Experience with multitasking software platforms and design approaches. Experience in broad application of control system theory (closed-loop control, MIMO systems, positioning and navigation). Certified Functional Safety Engineer. Post-Graduate Engineering degree.
