The Network Engineering team is the backbone of the bank's connectivity, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure. Our mission is to identify new technologies that meet evolving business needs, execute strategic projects, and provide day-to-day support to ensure peak performance and avoid business disruptions. We work closely with other technical teams across the bank to assist in their projects and troubleshoot complex system issues.
As a Network Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader within the Network Engineering team, driving the design and implementation of complex network projects for UMB. This role goes beyond maintenance; it requires a proactive approach to optimizing network performance and proposing strategic changes. You will be responsible for the overall design and performance of the WAN/LAN Data/Voice network, conducting feasibility studies, and evaluating vendor products. Your work will directly support the development and testing of disaster recovery plans and facilitate the seamless turnover of equipment to production environments.
This is a hybrid role based at the UMB Technology & Operations Center in downtown Kansas City, MO. The schedule requires on-site presence Monday through Thursday, with Fridays available for remote work.

A Cisco or Juniper certification at the Associate (JNCIA, CCNA) or Professional (JNCIS, CCNP) level. Experience in SD-WAN deployments, Python utilized for automation, WiFi technology, Network monitoring and management platforms (i.e. Cisco Identity Services Engine, SNMP/Netflow-based monitoring tools), Understanding of F5 Big-IP LTM and GTM load balancing platforms, Banking/financial services industry experience.
