This position serves as a strategic partner within the finance organization, assuming a lead role in facilitating business close cycles and resolving complex technical accounting issues. You will possess an expert understanding of financial principles, practices, and systems, ensuring strict adherence to general accounting, tax, SEC, and FERC rules.
In this role, you will build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers and executive management, providing consulting on specific topics and guiding the organization through unusual and complex assignments. You will be responsible for designing and implementing internal financial and accounting process controls, evaluating proposed transactions for accounting implications, and preparing filings or testimony for legal and regulatory matters. Additionally, you will represent the business area on IT concerns, defining system enhancement requirements and approving design documents. As a subject matter expert, you will also play a key role in training co-workers and subordinates, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
