The Energetics and Propulsion Department is an engineering organization within the Hardware Engineering Directorate, responsible for the full spectrum of warhead, fuzing, and propulsion designs. This role serves as a critical link within a product team, working alongside functional subject matter experts to develop architectures, top-level design concepts, and requirements for one-shot devices such as initiators, gas generators, pyroswitches, and explosive bolts.
You will be the day-to-day liaison for programs, ensuring two-way communication regarding resource technical assignments. The position involves technical oversight of power source batteries and one-shot development programs, from proposal and cost preparation to test data reduction and failure analysis. You will present design models and analysis results to internal and customer review meetings, supporting the development of Critical Item Development Specifications (CIDS) and collaborating with suppliers to generate specifications and statements of work.
RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted, though this may vary based on candidate flow and business necessity. As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as remote.
To apply, ensure you meet the mandatory requirements, including U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain an active, transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance (Secret) prior to your start date.
