The Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program at Lockheed Martin Space has a long and proud history of supporting the US Navy in its mission of Strategic Deterrence since the inception of the Polaris missile program in December 1956. We are currently developing the next-generation of flight avionics for the D5 Life Extension 2 (D5LE2) program, which will form the backbone of the submarine-launched ballistic missile program until the year 2084.
As a Principal Circuit Design Engineer, you will serve as the Product Realization Lead for the D5LE2 program. In this capacity, you will lead all engineering disciplines in the release of engineering documentation, acquisition of materials, construction of hardware, and the on-time delivery of that hardware to the Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) location. You will act as the single engineering authority for all subcontract actions, including Statements of Work, specifications, RFPs, and supplier technical direction.
Your day-to-day involves leading the development and release of engineering artifacts for circuit card assemblies, connectors, enclosures, and cable harnesses. You will oversee the technical execution of CCA build and test at suppliers and support test planning at the AI&T facility. This role requires bridging the gap between development and production, ensuring a smooth transition of the product to the AI&T facility and providing technical guidance to Executive leadership, including the FBM Director of Avionics and the D5LE2 Program Director.
This position is based at the Lockheed Martin Space facility in Littleton, CO. It does not support teleworking; the selected candidate must be located near the facility and work full-time onsite. The role operates on a flexible 9x80 schedule, providing every other Friday off.
