We are seeking two full-time physicians to join our teams at the Topeka, KS VA and the Junction City, KS CBOC (Clinic). In the General Medicine Service (GMS), you will provide a full range of primary care services emphasizing quality, timeliness, and the advancement of the Veterans Affairs mission. Your core functions will involve performing and documenting health care delivery for veterans according to VHA and EKHCS PC standards, practicing to the full extent of your education, training, and certification.
As a physician in this role, you will provide advanced clinical practice, consultation, and management. You will have prescriptive authority for a panel of patients or program as indicated by your position. The work schedule is during the day, with specific times determined upon selection. There is no physician employment contract, and there are no significant restrictions on moonlighting for primary care delivery.
The VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package designed to support your career and well-being. Compensation is competitive, ranging from $225,000 to $315,000 annually, determined through a formal pay-setting process that considers education and length of practice (Base Pay + Market Pay). This includes an annual performance bonus and regular salary increases.
You will receive 50-55 days of paid time off per year, comprising 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and a possible 5-day paid absence for CME. Retirement benefits include a traditional federal pension with a 5-year vesting period and a federal 401(k) with up to 5% in contributions by the VA. Insurance coverage includes federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care, with many programs carryable into retirement.
Additional support includes free liability protection with tail coverage for malpractice. Eligible physicians may participate in the Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment) and may receive up to $1,000 per year for CME reimbursement if full-time with board certification.
