Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) envisions a world where children are safe, families are strong, and communities are vibrant. With 60 programs across the state serving a wide range of populations in need, LSF is a mission-driven organization dedicated to transforming the lives of those in need. Staff members become part of a supportive community that offers significant growth opportunities as they explore areas of interest within the organization.
The Preschool Mentor Coach is a pivotal role designed to elevate the quality of Early Head Start and Head Start programs through on-site coaching and mentorship. This position exists to ensure that teachers and Teacher Assistants are equipped with the tools and strategies necessary to improve teacher-child interactions and drive positive child outcomes toward school readiness.
In this role, you will serve as a technical expert and collaborative partner. Your day will involve conducting classroom observations, leading demonstration lessons, and providing actionable feedback to staff. You will analyze data from the CLASS observation tool to identify areas for growth and design targeted professional development training. Beyond direct coaching, you will assist in developing classroom programs, updating procedures for curriculum implementation, and ensuring cultural and linguistic responsiveness across all sites. You will work closely with Center Directors and the Education Supervisor to evaluate program goals, monitor quality assurance efforts, and foster a culture of continuous improvement based on current research and evidence-based practices.
Working at LSF means joining a team that is deeply committed to its mission. You will have the chance to make a tangible impact on the lives of children and families while enjoying a comprehensive benefits package that supports your well-being and future. The organization values its staff, offering opportunities for professional growth and a supportive environment where your contributions are recognized.
Candidates must meet specific certification and screening requirements prior to hiring, including a Level II background screening, drug screening, and relevant certifications in First Aid, CPR, and the CLASS observation tool. The organization is committed to transparency and compliance with Florida state regulations regarding background screenings.
LSF is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background and are committed to maintaining a diverse and inclusive workforce. We value sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of our service population and strive to create an environment where everyone can thrive.
Note: Lutheran Services Florida is mandated to perform background screenings in accordance with Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse requirements.
