JT4, LLC provides critical engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract (J-Tech II). Our mission is to develop and maintain realistic, integrated test and training environments, preparing the nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
As a Power Systems Field Engineer, you will serve as a lead on complex field engineering assignments for the Utah Test and Training Range. This role is vital to ensuring the stability and reliability of the range's critical power infrastructure. You will manage the complete lifecycle of power production systems, overseeing the operation, testing, and maintenance of backup generators and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS).
Your day-to-day involves leading field engineering assignments for the Medium Voltage Power Grid (MVPG), including 15kV and 25kV underground grids, and overseeing outside plant construction projects. You will act as the primary liaison with commercial power providers and internal stakeholders to resolve grid issues and ensure operational continuity. The role requires conducting site visits and experimental investigations to analyze complex engineering problems, proposing effective solutions, and applying broad technical knowledge to the design and sustainment of power system components.
You will also work closely with senior engineering staff to absorb institutional knowledge, preparing to assume technical ownership of the range's power infrastructure portfolio. This position offers the opportunity to support the development of technical proposals for infrastructure upgrades and modernization efforts while producing essential technical documentation, including system specifications and site diagrams.
This position is part of a Federal Government Contract, which requires U.S. citizenship. Candidates must be eligible for a government security clearance, possess a state-issued driver's license, or hold other necessary certifications. The inability to obtain and maintain these clearances or licenses may affect employment eligibility.
JT4 is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are dedicated to providing a safe and supportive work environment.
