About the Role
The Department of Pharmacology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a post-doctoral research associate position within the UNC Proteomics Core Facility. This role is designed to support the facility's mission by fostering collaboration between the Director, core team members, and the broader UNC research community, including faculty, post-docs, and graduate students.
The successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic array of ongoing and emerging projects, specifically focusing on COVID-19, cancer, and drug discovery research. The position offers the opportunity to develop and implement novel methodological applications. Under the general direction of a senior or principal researcher, the post-doc will lead specific components of larger research programs. The day-to-day work involves meeting with collaborators to refine project scopes, designing experiments, and executing wet-lab method development, sample preparation, and LC-MS analysis. Additionally, the role requires thorough data analysis, report writing, and the active establishment of internal partnerships and external networks to support future funding opportunities.

Requirements

- verifiedResearch experience with biochemical laboratory techniques and procedures
Nice to Have
Ability to operate LC-MS instruments, specifically Thermo Fisher mass spectrometry instruments (Thermo QExactive, Lumos). Experience with in-depth proteomics data analysis using MaxQuant, Perseus, Proteome Discoverer, and R. Experience in leading and overseeing research methods and techniques within the framework of the research program.
