A post-doctoral research position is available within the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at UNC Chapel Hill. This role is dedicated to leading research in targeted therapeutics applications utilizing biomedical ultrasonics.
Potential projects for this position include acoustically enhanced immunotherapy, targeted therapeutic delivery to the brain, and ultrasound-targeted cancer therapies. The successful candidate will lead these projects, conduct independent research, and mentor junior team members.
Beyond research execution, this position involves writing manuscripts, presenting findings at conferences, and contributing to grant proposals. Success in this role requires the ability to work effectively as part of a team, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and learn new skills quickly. Strong communication and hands-on technical skills are essential.
Specific areas of knowledge that will be useful include biomedical acoustics, physical acoustics, beamforming, ultrasound imaging, fabrication techniques, MATLAB, and preclinical studies. While expertise in Verasonics programming is a bonus, it is not required.
